From a cabin in the Poconos with ten people to 120+ Neurotransmitters across the globe. This is how we got here — the growth, the pause, and the return.
NS1 — THE BEGINNING
A cabin in the woods. Ten people who didn't know what they were starting. The first NeuroSummit was an experiment — makers, technologists, and artists spending a weekend building things together and seeing what happened.

Word spread. The second gathering brought new faces, new disciplines, new energy. The community started calling themselves The Neurotransmitters — signals crossing synapses between domains.
NS3 — ROOTS
Third time at the Poconos. By now the format was finding itself — participant-driven sessions, communal meals, late-night conversations that became collaborations. The tradition was taking shape.
NS4 — NEW GROUND
A new location, a new energy. Moving to the Catskills pushed the community out of its comfort zone — proof that NeuroSummit was about the people, not the place.
NS5 — ALTITUDE
Mountain gathering. The Rockies brought a different scale — big landscapes, big conversations. The community had grown beyond its East Coast roots.
NS6 — THE WOODS
Curtis Redel's WOODS venue on a Pacific island. The most remote gathering yet — accessible only by ferry. Sometimes the best ideas come from being truly away.
NS7 — THE DESERT
"One of my fav events ever at Arcosanti." — Rob Jameson. Seventy people in Paolo Soleri's experimental desert city. Concrete vaults, bronze bells, vast sky.
THE PAUSE
Five years of reflection, growth, and life changes. A pandemic reshaped the world. Some of us had kids, moved cities, changed careers. But the signal never fully died — mini-events kept the ember alive: Running Duck (2023), NEURO NOWHERE (virtual), Philly Neuro (2025). Now it's time to gather again.
THE RETURN BEGINS
NS8 planning starts. A helper team forms — Pia, Lisa, Isabella step up alongside John. The Slack comes alive again. The band is getting back together.
NS8 — NEUROCHŌ
The return. Back to the desert, back to the vaults and bells and vast sky. 120+ Neurotransmitters in Slack. New faces, original members, and everything in between. Not a reunion — a continuation.
